Peng Shi - Biography#


Prof Shi obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1994 from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and his second PhD in Mathematics from the University of South Australia in 1998. He was awarded two higher doctorates, Doctor Degree of Science from the University of Glamorgan, UK in 2006; and Doctor Degree of Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2015.

He is now a Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Adelaide, Australia. Prior to this position, he held appointments as Professor of Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at Victoria University, Australia; Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Glamorgan, UK; and Scientist/Senior Scientist at Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Australia. His research Interests include systems and control, intelligent systems and operational research. He has published 23 Monographs, 900+ journal articles, and 200+ conference papers.

He has been an Editor-in-Chief, Subject Editor-in-Chief, Subject Editor, Special Issue Editor, and Associate Editors for 20+ journals, including IEEE Transactions on (Automatic Control; Cybernetics; Fuzzy Systems; Circuits and Systems); IEEE Control Systems Letters; IEEE Access; and Automatica. He has delivered a large number of talks as Plenary Speaker, Keynote Speaker, Invited Speaker in international conferences, symposiums, workshops and institutions. He was a General Chair, Workshop Chair, Session Chair and IPC Member for numerous conferences.
