Annette Menzel - Biography#


Annette Menzel received her Diploma in Forestry in 1989, then worked in the Bavarian State Forestry Commission and was awarded her Ph.D. in 1997 at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Germany. In 2002 she qualified as a professor (Habilitation) in Biometeorology and was appointed Professor of Ecoclimatology at the Technical University of Munich in 2007. Prof. Menzel served for the AR4 and AR5 of IPCC and in 2013 she was appointed Carl von Linde Senior Fellow at TUM Institute of Advanced Study. Her interdisciplinary research interests are interactions between atmosphere, biosphere, and hydrosphere, especially impacts of climate change and extreme events on terrestrial ecosystems as well as on human health.
