According to Google scholar, his h-index is 42. The research strategy of the candidate, and of his group (Atenea), prioritizes quality over quantity. During the past five years, 3 of his papers in high-quality international conferences were awarded with the Best Paper Award, and another one won the 10 Years Most Influential Paper Award, acknowledging its impact in the community after that period.

In addition to his publications, the technology transfer activities of the candidate focus on two main lines: engineering tools and international standards. His group has released a number of open source tools, some of which have been well accepted and recognized by the community, especially those for the specification and testing of model transformations. He also keeps a very active line of standardization activities, with the participation in standardization bodies both at national (AENOR, UNE) and international levels (ISO, IEC, ITU-T OMG). He has been the editor of three ISO/IEC international standards on Open Distributed Processing, and is currently a member of the group working on the Precise Semantics for Uncertainty Modeling OMG standard, and the leader of the UNE Working Group on “Specification Techniques for Information Systems”.
