Ulrich Tadday - Biography#


Ulrich Tadday studied musicology and pedagogy, German and philosophy at the universities of Dortmund and Bochum; exam for secondary schools (Music, German Literature); 1992 PhD with a Grant of Nordrhein-Westfalen; from 1991 to 1998 research assistant at Dortmund University; Grant from Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft; 1998 Habilitation (monograph on romantic music aesthetics); 1998-2002 high school teacher; 2002 appointment as full professor and chair for historical musicology at University of Bremen. He is a member of national and international scientific associations and works as well as an advisory board member for several encyclopedias. Since 2004 he has been publishing the new installment in the series of music concepts; meanwhile he has edited more than 70 volumes, most of them reference publications for music between 1950 and 2020.
