Departing from a political communication tradition, Trine Syvertsen's research has evolved into a comprehensive socio-cultural approach to digital media. Currently, she is perhaps the most distinguished scholar on the Nordic model of public-service media which she has studied from an institutional and economic as well as a cultural and historical perspective.
