Lars Sauerberg#

Short laudatio by Svend Erik Larsen#

In the last 10 years Lars Ole Sauerberg’s major international achievement has been the general editorship since 1999 of one of the highest ranking literary journals in the field, Orbis Litterarum (Wiley~Blackwell). He has developed its high standards, secured a readership on all continents, a modernization into the new media age and made access competitive with a constant flow of proposed papers. This is only possible because of his existing international networks and, in particular, his own position as a wide-ranging and prolific author with a number of books, published with important international publishers (of which only books in English are included below). From a core of British literature and literature in English from the 20th century (with crime fiction as a particular specialty) he has moved into book and media history with relation to literature and into the interdisciplinary field of literature and music. On top of that he as acted for 5 years as Dean of the humanities and pro-vice-chancellor, an organizational experience which has translated into organization of research networks and conferences, particularly targeting the doctoral and postdoctoral fellows. He has been a well—known literary critic with a major Danish news paper.
