Marie-Pierre Rey - Biography#


From September 1998 : Professor of Russian History and the director of the Research Center in Slavic Studies of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.

From 2017 : Director of the research laboratory UMR SIRICE (8138) which is the largest French research structure in history of contemporary Intenational relations . It gathers about 60 resarchers and 135 PhD students and promotes research in History of International relations, History of Wars and conflics in Europe, Gender History, Scientific diplomacy, History of "imaginaires sociaux".

Since 2018 : has been very much involved in French-Russian cooperation in terms of academic exchanges and education. This explains why she has been promoted member from 2018 of the Executive Council of the "Trianon Dialogue" established by Presidents Macron and Putin in order to develop civil cooperation between France and Russia.

During more than 25 years, she has been conducting personal and collective research in Russian History, (domestic and international aspects) and published more than 100 articles (the detailed list is in attached file). IShe is also member of the editorial or scientific boards of several journals (Revue des études slaves, Relations Internationales et Cahiers Sirice, Monde(s). Histoire, espaces, relations, Bulletin de l’Institut Pierre Renouvin.

She is very much interested in the broadcasting and dissemination of scientific academic production towards civil society. This is why she is often taking part in radio or TV shows, documentaries, etc.
