Thierry Poynard - Biography#


Thierry Poynard is Emeritus Professor of Hepato-Gastroenterology at the Groupe Hospitalier Pitié-Salpêtrière, Assistance-Publique Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP), Sorbonne University, INSERM-UMR S-938, Saint-Antoine Research Center, & Institute of Cardiometabolism and Nutrition, where he heads the Anti-Fibrosis Center. He was assistant Professor, at UCLA, VA-Los Angeles, USA 1982-1983, and visiting Professor at Schering Plough Research Institute, Kenilworth, USA, 1998. National Grand Prix of Clinical Research Award in 2013. French Award from "Association Française du Foie" in 2016.

Since 1997 he co-signed, mostly original articles as first or last author, 1,141 Publications (WoS), h-index= 110 (WoS), 115 (Scopus), 137 (Google-Scholar), including 3 with more than 3000 citations (Google Scholar).

He founded BioPredictive company in 2002, invented 14 patented or pending tests: FibroTest, ActiTest, SteatoTest, AshTest, NashTest, GenoFibroTest, ElastoFibroTest, ST2, NT2, DILI-ActiTest, NashFibroTest, LiverCancerRisk-1, LiverCancerRisk-2, A1HPV6. All these patents belong to APHP-Sorbonne University.
