Uta Noppeney - Biography#


Uta Noppeney studied medicine and philosophy at the University of Freiburg (Germany), University College London (UCL, UK) and Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA). She received a degree in medicine (1997, Freiburg University, Germany), a doctorate in medicine (1998, Freiburg University) and a PhD in neuroscience (2004, UCL, UK). After training in neurology at the University Hospital in Aachen, she conducted neuroscience research at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging, (UCL, UK). In 2005, she became research group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen (Germany). In 2011, she was appointed Chair in Computational Neuroscience in the School of Psychology and director of the then newly established Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Robotics Centre (CNCR) at the University of Birmingham, UK. Since 2019, she has been Professor of Systems Neuroscience in the Neurophysics Department of Radboud University and Principal investigator at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in the Netherlands.
