Goran Muić - Biography#

Goran Muić was born in Zagreb on October 7, 1969. He graduated in mathematics at the University of Zagreb in 1993, where he also obtained his M.Sc. degree in 1996, and his Ph.D. degree in 1997. Since 1993, he is Teaching Assistant at the Department of Mathematics of University of Zagreb. In 2000, he obtained the position of Assistant Professor at the same department. In 2004, he was promoted to the position of Associate Professor and in 2007 to the position of Full Professor.

From 1997 till 2000 he was Burgess Instructor at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he obtained the price “Outstanding Instructorship Award”. From October 1, 2008 till February 28, 2009, he was Senior Research Fellow at the Erwin Schroedinger Institute in Vienna. In 2004, he obtained the Award of Croatian Mathematical Society for Young Mathematicians for Contributions to Mathematics.

At the Erwin Schroedinger Institute in Vienna he organized two big two months lasting programs covering all the important directions of research in modern theory of automorphic forms. His co-organizers were J. Schwermer (Director of ESI), J.W. Cogdell (Ohio State University Columbus), and C. Mœglin (Universite Denis Diderot, Paris VII).
