I was Professor of Political Sciences in the Political Science Faculty at the National School for Political Studies and Public Administration (NSPSA), Bucharest, Romania

My research area encompasses the fields of moral philosophy, feminist philosophy, political theory, feminist political theories, and political ethics), post-communist transition, and gender and politics.

Main initiatives and contributions:

I. To the Evolution of Philosophy and Political Theory in Romania:

Ethics:
  • I was the editor of the first Philosophy handbook for high schools after the collapse of communism (1992-1999)
  • My book: The Shadow’s Thoughts. Feminist approaches in Philosophy (1995) was the first of its kind in our philosophical space. *In my book: On Nature, Women and Morals (1966) I developed a new approach in ethics: the convenience theory.
  • The first dictionary on feminism: Lexicon Feminist (Feminist Lexicon) 2002, as co-editor with Otilia Dragomir
  • The first book on Feminist Political Theory: (The Road to Autonomy) (2004)
  • I have used the ethical criteria of autonomy (in the Kantian meaning) in order to classify and characterize the political ideologies, in my capacity as editor (Contemporary political Ideologies, 2012)

Political theory
  • The initiation of the analyses concerning The Left Conservatism in Post communism (Publication: Backward-looking Society, 1999) Presentation IPSA Congress, Quebec, August, 2000) International Congress of Political Science Association, 2000.

  • The first classes in Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy Faculty, Bucharest University (1994)
  • The management and the development of the Faculty of Political Science, NSPSPA as Dean: 1997 - 2001
  • The initiation and coordination of the first PhD Program in Political Science (2000)
  • The evaluation and the institutional development of Political Science in Romania as expert for quality assurance CNEAA (since 1997, CNATDCU (1999-2003): the curriculum development post-Bologna (CNEAA)
  • The dissemination of the research within international and national congresses and conferences.
  • International relations within the field with Indiana University, Bloomington, USA.
  • President of the Social Science Commission, CNATDCU, Bucharest, Romania, 2010 - 2011
