Claudine Kraft - Biography#
Claudine Kraft is a molecular cell biologist studying the mechanisms of selective autophagy. She studied molecular biology in Basel, completed her PhD at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, and carried out postdoctoral work at ETH Zürich. She subsequently led a junior research group at the Max F. Perutz Laboratories and is now Professor at the University of Freiburg.
Her research combines genetics, biochemistry and imaging approaches to investigate how autophagy is initiated and organised. Her work has contributed to understanding key steps in the pathway, including cargo recognition, membrane formation and fusion processes.
She is active in the international research community and is committed to mentoring early career scientists and supporting collaborative research environments.
