Interests and Research#

Prof. Zaal Kokaia's scientific interests include cellular mechanisms of regeneration following stroke-induced damage to the brain and development of new therapeutic strategies to restore impaired brain function by transplantation of stem cells or reprogrammed cells, optimization of endogenous repair mechanisms and modulation of neuroinflammation.
