Jiang has been with mechanical engineering throughout his career. His main research has been in invention and development of micro engines as new power sources for our current and future society, including engines with little or no emissions but much higher energy density than batteries for EV and long haul drone applications. His research also involves micro/nano technologies. He has authored over 270 publications, including in nature Communications, and is the inventor of 17 patents, many of which cover multi-nations.
