RESEARCH INTERESTS

My interest is in the application of genetic analysis to the problem of neurodegenerative disease. I was in charge of the group which found the first APP mutation in Alzheimer's disease, the first MAPT mutation in Pick's disease and the SNCA triplication in Parkinson's disease. More recently, I have been analysing genome wide association studies for these diseases and developing whole genome expression analyses to aid in their interpretation. Furthermore, I have been become very interested in the analysis of patient derived stem cells through these approaches as a mechanism by which to design and analyse more complete models of these major diseases.

PUBLICATIONS

I have published over 900 papers in peer-reviewed Journals (see http://www.researcherid.com/rid/C-2451-2009).

STUDENT SUPERVISION

Over the past 10 years alone I have co/ and supervised over 30 PhD/MD students
