Philip Hardie - Biography#


Philip Hardie studied at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, 1970-74 and obtained a first class BA degree in classics in 1974. He then did research work and was a Junior Research Fellow at the same college 1980-84. After a year teaching in New York he was appointed first to a Fellowship at Magdalene College, Cambridge (1985) and then to a Fellowship at New Hall, Cambridge (1990) with a University Lecturership in Classics. In 2002 he was elected Corpus Christi Professor of Latin at Oxford, but in 2006 returned to Cambridge as Honorary Professor and Senior Research Fellow of Trinity College.
