Christer Halldin - Biography#


Christer Halldin was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1953. He has Swedish nationality, he lives in Stockholm, Sweden, and is the Professor of Medicinal Radiochemistry and the Director of the Karolinska Institutet PET Centre of the Karolinska Institutet.

Christer Halldin was educated at Uppsala University, Sweden, where in 1978 he received a B.Sc. in Chemistry and in 1984 a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and Radiochemistry. As a postdoctoral scientist, he spent a year Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA, Radiochemistry 1984-1985. Since 1985 he is affiliated with the Karolinska Institutet, where since 2000 he is Professor of Medicinal Radiochemistry and since 2003 he is the Director of the Karolinska Institutet PET Centre.
