Xiaoming Fu - Biography#


Xiaoming Fu is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Göttingen and leading the Computer Networks Group. He received his Ph.D. (2000) from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. After that, he worked as a member of scientific staff at TU Berlin until joining the faculty at the University of Göttingen in 2002. He served as Vice Chair of the Technical Committee on Computer Communications (TCCC, 2010-2012) of IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), and as Chair of the Internet Technical Committee (2011-2013) of the IEEE ComSoc and Internet Society (ISOC).

He has been on the editorial boards of IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, IEEE Networking Letters, Computer Networks, Computer Communications, Chinese Journal of Electronics, and served as a guest editor for World Wide Web Journal, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Network, Computer Networks, and Computer Communications. He is an IEEE senior member and IEEE distinguished lecturer, a member of ACM, a Fellow of IET, and a member of GI.

Prof. Fu was a Principal Investigator of EU FP6-ENABLE, VIDIOS & MING-T projects, and served/serves as coordinator for EU FP7-GreenICN, CleanSky, MobileCloud projects and H2020 ICN2020 project. He served/serves as an evaluator for several funding agencies, including DFG, Germany; EU (FP7, H2020); SSF, Sweden; Research Foundation - Flanders, Belgium; MIUR, Italy; RPF, Cyprus; FONDECYT, Chile; and RGC Hong Kong & NSFC, China etc.
