Guojun Dai - Curriculum vitae#

ACTUAL POSITION, VISION AND RESEARCH INTEREST

Guojun Dai is currently a Distinguished Professor at Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU), focusing on non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) research, development, and its applications for health care. In particular, Prof. Dai's research interests focus on the use of non-invasive BCI technology in cognitive psychology experimental methodology, early screening of cognitive disorders such as for instance Alzheimer Disease (AD), and the objective evaluation of human-factor impacts on cognitive activity in automotive and aeronautic environments.

Prof. Dai spent his academic career building in HDU an international laboratory for BCI research and biomedical engineering that host along these last two decades several generation of chinese and european researchers from several countries such as Spain, Italy, Poland. Several senior research scientists at HDU have been educated in the prof. Dai's laboratory to the research first as PhD student then as associate and finally as full professors (e.g. Prof. Wanzeng Kong, prof. Hong Zeng at HDU).

Prof. Dai is the director of the Zhejiang Provincial Key Technology Engineering Research Center for Brain Health Industry, Hangzhou, China and the director of the International Joint Research Center for Brain-Machine Collaborative Intelligence Technology, Hangzhou, China.

SCIENTIFIC OUTPUT

Prof. Dai published over 200 peer-reviewed research papers (including 138 journal papers and 62 conference proceedings) to now, first leading the research in HDU from the Department of Computer Science towards the analysis of brain signals in healthy and patients.

Results of Prof. Dai's scientific papers have been applied in cognitive psychology experiments and have been employed for the early screening of AD in elderly populations by electroencephalographic measurements, thus benefiting numerous families and yielding a significant social impact for the Hangzhou community.

Prof. Dai bibliographic metric is as follows: h-index of 27, i10-Index of 62.

CREATION OF THE RESEARCH NETWORK AT HDU

Prof. Dai operated to built permanent scientific cooperations and collaborations in HDU with several european research laboratories in Italy, Spain, Swiss, UK, Hungary and Poland, with a duration of the scientific agreements lasting between 3 years up to 20 years(!).

FUNDING

The industrialization of the Prof. Dai's scientific research projects has generated economic benefits of more than 100 million yuan to now.

DIDACTIC

Prof. Dai has supervised more than 150 graduate and 10 PhD students in HDU in Applied Computer Science.

ACTIVITY FOR THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY

As a scholar, Prof. Dai actively participates in peer-reviews for international scientific journals such as Pattern Recognition, Journal of Biomedical Information and IEEE Trans Biomed Circuits Systems. He was an active committee member for the evaluation of project for governative agencies in China since two decades.
