Professional status, Expertise / main research themes
Currently CNRS Director of research (exceptional class DRCE2 since Oct. 2021), in the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Research in Astrophysics (LIRA, UMR8109) of the Paris-PSL Observatory in Meudon.
Participation in ground observation campaigns and space projects
- Exploitation of space mission data: Voyager 1 and 2; Cassini-Huygens (Co- Investigator or associate of 5 instruments: CIRS, VIMS, RADAR, DISR, HASI)
- Observation campaigns and exploitation of data from ground observatories and in space
- Scientific Co-Leader of the Science Definition Team of the Jupiter Icy moons mission Explorer from 2010 to 2012, then member of the Science Working Team. The mission has launched in April 2023, arrival expected in 2031
- Co-I and member of the Scientific Consortium of the ARIEL mission on exoplanets, planned from 2028 to 2032)
- Martian Moon Explorer (MMX): Co-I of the MIRS instrument (spectro-imager)
- Co-coordinator of two EU-funded projects: H2024 and H2020 for Planetary Sciences in Europe
- Vice-President of the EUROPLANET Society from 2018 to 2019
- Member of the Steering Committee of NASA's 2023 - 2032 Planetary Decadal Survey
Scientific production and dissemination of knowledge
- Approximately 300 publications including approximately 239 articles referenced in the WOS, approximately 13000 citations, H=56 *3 books published as first author, 16 chapters in books and encyclopedias
- 780 presentations, including around 200 invited (mostly at international conferences)
- Organization of symposiums or planetary sessions at international congresses (EGU, DPS, IUGG/IAMAS/ICPAE, AOGS, EPSC, COSPAR, IPPW…) and others
- Numerous activities to disseminate knowledge to the general public: science bars, open days, Sciences en Fête, television or radio broadcasts, Days of the Heritage, conferences for the general public or in high schools and colleges, etc. Teaching and supervision of theses
