Clinton Conrad - Biography#


Professor Clinton P. Conrad (US citizen, born 30.11.1971) is currently working with the Department of Geosciences at University of Oslo (Norway) and is leading one of the 6 research groups of the Norwegian Centre of Excellence CEED (Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics). Clinton’s academic education includes a double Bachelor degree in Physics and Geophysics from the University of California at Berkley (1994), and a PhD in Geophysics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2000). Clinton held several academic positions at 4 US Universities, and from 2016 he works as a Professor in Mantle Geodynamics at CEED. He has a considerable experience in teaching with over 16 separate courses taught in USA and Norway and student supervision and mentoring (9 Master students, 5 PhD students and 7 postdoctoral fellows). Professor Conrad has great success with research applications in the USA and Norway; since 2000 he received over 1.5 million USD to study Earth and planetary mantle processes. He also contributed to community numerical code development. Clinton (h-index 35) published 83 papers (all peer-reviewed), which attracted 3664 citations (Scopus).
