Manuel Bustos-Rodríguez - Biography#

Manuel Bustos Rodríguez has been Professor of Modern History at the University of Cádiz until 2020, as well as Director of the Royal Hispanic American Academy. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the CEU-San Pablo University and Director of the "Ángel Ayala" Humanities Institute-CEU, as well as a full member of the Academy of Europe and the Royal Hispano-American Academy, as well as correspondent in the National Academy of Bordeaux and that of San Romualdo. It is also a Medal of Honor from the Institute of Academies of Andalusia.

He was a fellow of the Confederation of Savings Banks, the "Fundaçâo Calouste Gulbenkian" (Portugal) and the "Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst" (Germany), as well as a visiting professor at various European universities (Louvain, Bordeaux, Paris-Sorbonne and Hamburg) and in the National of San Juan in Argentina.

He is currently a member of the scientific committee of the Revista Hispanoamericana and several others of an international nature (Annales de Bretagne et des Pays de l'Ouest, Revue d'Histoire Maritime and Revue Histoire, Économie et Société), as well as a member of the committee editorial of the magazine Latin America in Economic History.

His research has revolved around Maritime History, Cádiz in the modern period and Enlightenment thought.
