Vincenzo Borghetti - Biography#


Vincenzo Borghetti is Associate Professor of Music History at the University of Verona, Italy. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pavia-Cremona (2001), and in 2007-2008 was a fellow of Villa I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Renaissance Italian Studies, Florence. His research interests are centred on Renaissance polyphony and early twentieth-century opera. He recently published the critical edition of Gioachino Rossini’s opera "Elisabetta regina d’Inghilterra" for the "Edizione critica delle opere di Gioachino Rossini" of the Fondazione Rossini (Pesaro, 2016). With Riccardo Pecci he is co-author of the monography "Il bacio della Sfinge: D’Annunzio, Pizzetti e “Fedra”" (Turin, 1998; "Gabriele D'Annunzio Award" 1998). His essays and articles have appeared in "Early Music History", "Acta musicologica", "Journal of the Alamire Foundation", "Imago Musicae", "Handbuch der Musik der Renaissance", among others.
