Call for Papers. GLO-JOPE Conference Bonn & Global – December 3-5, 2025. Submission Deadline October 23, 2025.
The Global Labor Organization (GLO), a large international network of economists and related disciplines, invites contributed papers on all areas of applied human resources issues to its annual hybrid global GLO-JOPE 2025 conference (3-5 December 2025). Supported by the Journal of Population Economics (JOPE), it organizes online sessions for this period, and on December 4-5 a connected in-person event in the Science Center Bonn.
Contributions are invited to cover issues broadly defined about: labor, population, development, family, fertility, migration, refugees, health, crime, conflict, religion, behavioral economics and other human resources topics. Special interests include papers related to Africa, India, China, globalization or covered by the JOPE Collections.

MAE Klaus F. Zimmermann is the President of the Global Labor Organization (GLO), a global network of over 1,600 social scientists (many of them are MAEs) around the world in over 120 countries. The Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) at Jinan University, China, is the co-organizing institution. The event is virtual on June 5-7, 2020. Keynote addresses by Daron Acemoglu (MIT) and Nobel Prize Laureat Charles Manski (Northwestern University). Open paper submissions by May 24.

4. Publishing research on COVID-19
MAE Klaus F. Zimmermann is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Population Economics, the leading outlet in its field. It has established an express evaluation of academic research on COVID-19 and invites submissions for the regular issues. The first published paper is evaluating the China experience with the crisis, which can serve as a reference case for further studies on China and other countries in the world.
