Eun-Jeung Lee - Biography#


Born 1963 in Daejon in the Republic of Korea, she studied at Ewha Womans University, Seoul before entering the University of Göttingen, Germany, where she studied political science, social science and ethnology from 1984 through 1993. After her MA she obtained her PhD in political science (Dr. disc. pol.) at Göttingen University and her Habilitation from the University of Halle-Wittenberg in 2001.
Between 1989 and 2008, she held various academic positions and teaching assignments at the Universities of Göttingen, as well as Mokwon and Daejeon Universities, Korea, Aoyama Gakuin University, Tsukuba University, Chuo University (Visiting Research Fellow), Tokyo University Japan, and the Universities of Leipzig, Bochum, and Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.
Since 2008, she has been University Professor of Korean Studies at the Faculty for History and Cultural Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
