Valery Khoze - Biography#
Professor Valery A. Khoze a British citizen and physicist of Russian origin, a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
Born in 1943 in USSR, graduated from the Physics Department of Novosibirsk State University in 1965, and completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk) in 1968. In 1968-1972 he was a senior researcher and deputy head of the group at the Yerevan Physics Institute in Yerevan, Armenian SSR. In the period of 1972-1991, he had several, increasingly senior positions at the Leningrad Nuclear Physics Institute (Gatchina) as a research fellow, senior research fellow, finally a leading research fellow.
In 1979 he defended his doctoral dissertation: Electrodynamic processes and reactions with the formation of new particles in collisions: dissertation, and obtaine the title of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, equivalent to full professorship.
In 1991–1997, he became a Visiting Professor at the Department of Physics, Durham University, Durham, England, UK. In the 1997 - 2000 period, he acted as a Research Director INFN -LNF, Frascati, Italy. In 2000, he became a full professor of Durham University, Durham, England, UK. Since 2015, he is a Honorary Professor Emeritus of Durham University, England, UK.
