Tianzi Jiang is Professor and Director of Beijing Key Laboratory of Brainnetome and Director of the Brainnetome Center at the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), and Chief Professor at University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also a Professor at Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland, Australia. He received his BSc degree from Lanzhou University in 1984 and PhD degree from Zhejiang University in 1994. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow (1994-1996) and an Associate Professor (1996-1999), and full professor (1999-present) at CASIA. During that time, he worked as a Vice-Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Australia, and a visiting scientist at Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences.

He has a wide spectrum of research interests, focusing on brain image analysis, neuroimaging, multiscale brainnetome atlas, and their applications in understanding of brain functions and disorders. He has published more than 300+ high-quality papers in top-tier journals, which attracted more than 16000 citations and 30 papers with more than 100 citations. All these citations are from Web of Science. He also develops novel neuro-signal recording/modulating technologies and has documented more than 50 patents, 42 of which have been approved.

He is/was an editor or editorial board members of 10+ journals, including IEEE Trans. on Medical Imaging, IEEE Trans. on Autonomous Mental Development, IEEE Trans. on Cognitive and Developmental Systems, NeuroImage, Frontiers in Neuroinformatics, and Neuroscience Bulletin. He has chaired for conferences, symposium and workshops for 10+ times, including MICCAI’2010, BCW’2012, and ICPR’2018. He has served as a reviewer for 100+ prestigious international journals including T-PAMI, T-MI, T-IP, T-BME, IJCV, PNAS, Nature Methods, and Nature Protocols.

He obtained a number of international and national awards and honours, including Natural Science Award of China (the Highest Award in Science for Chinese Scientists), Outstanding Young Scholars of China, Chang Jiang Scholarships, and an elected member of Academia of Europaea, a Fellow of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, IEEE and IAPR.
