Prof He is a thoracic surgeon, Director of the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, leading scientist of Guangzhou National Laboratory, member of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and President of the International Society for Tubeless Minimally Invasive Surgery. Academic work focuses on surgical oncology of lung cancer, leading to the creation of an integrated “AI + robotics” screening–diagnosis–treatment–recovery system, a “whole-cycle precision surgery” framework for lung cancer, and a tubeless minimally invasive paradigm, all of which have been widely implemented in clinical practice.

Prof He led four national major projects and contributed to more than 750 SCI-indexed papers in international journals including Lancet, NEJM, JAMA and BMJ (H-index 69, >58,000 citations; 40 papers with IF >30; 80 papers with IF >10). Among these, 25 ESI highly cited papers have been recognized, and work has been cited over 30 times by WHO and international oncology guidelines. A total of 32 Chinese- and English-language monographs have been edited, together with 35 national invention patents and 10 medical device registrations. In addition, 11 expert consensuses or clinical guidelines have been initiated and led.
