Maria-Dolores Garcia-Ramon - Biography#


Maria Dolors GARCIA-RAMON is Full Professor of Geography at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has been professor/research fellow at the Universities of Arizona, Cornell, Buenos Aires, Durham and London School of Economics.

She has published several books and a large number of articles from a gender perspective on the fields of rural geography, urban public spaces, history of geography and, in particular on women travellers.

She has been the coordinator of many research projects on gendered social and economic activities, recently on urban spaces and she has been a pioneering figure in Spain on gender studies. She has been the secretary of the International Geographical Union Gender and Geography Comission. She is a member of the editing board of several international journals in geography and social sciences.
