  • 1976 - 1980 University of Bucharest, Faculty of History
  • 1990 - 1992 Institute of Archaeology ‘Vasile Pârvan’ of the Romanian Academy, PhD in History. Doctoral thesis: ‘The Thasian Amphora Stamps from Histria’ (under the direction of Petre Alexandrescu; published in 1996)
