In a collaborative effort, the EASAC Working Group for the Report “Changing Wildfires - Policy Options for a Fire-literate and Fire-adapted Europe” resulted in an important report, covering the timely and hugely relevant topic of Wildfire Policy, which was launched on 19 May 2025 in Brussels and online, and which was received well and with great interest among European Policy-makers and media outlets.
Two members of the Human Mobility, Governance, Environment and Space section of Academia Europaea, Professor Urbano Fra Paleo and Professor Tobias Plieninger, significantly contributed to the EASAC Working Group for the report from October 2023 to May 2025.
You can now view a video of the Launch Event on YouTube which has drawn 1.9k views so far, with an exceptional average watch time of over 55 minutes, which is an encouraging sign of deep interest in the topic.
