Call for Proposals: From Knowledge to Activity (2025–2027)#

Academia Europaea invites all its members and sections to submit proposals for the new "From Knowledge to Activity" initiative. The program aims to translate academic knowledge into real-world impact across Europe by supporting young researchers and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The program, coordinated by the AE Budapest Knowledge Hub and CLASS C, is designed to amplify the societal and policy impact of science across Europe.

The initiative focuses on three key missions:

  1. From Science to Society – Turning scientific discoveries into tangible societal benefits
  2. From Curiosity to Career – Creating career development models for young researchers
  3. From Barriers to Bridges – Supporting projects that connect countries and disciplines, particularly those involving underrepresented regions of Europe or fostering interdisciplinary collaborations

All Classes and Sections of Academia Europaea are invited to submit proposals. It is our expressed aim that every Section will contribute at least one project, ensuring a truly pan-European, multidisciplinary effort.
Submission details:
  • Deadline: 31 May 2025
  • Email for submissions: aebudapest@office.mta.hu
  • Evaluation: Submitted projects will be reviewed and selected by a dedicated committee composed of AE Class Chairs and Section Chairs

Each project must involve:
  • A young investigator (PhD student or postdoc), and
  • A senior AE member as mentor and project lead

Selected projects will receive:
  • €1,500 funding per project (granted upon successful publication)
  • Professional coordination through monthly progress meetings
  • Support for dissemination and high-impact journal submission

We believe this is a unique opportunity to demonstrate how Academia Europaea transforms knowledge into action, by fostering collaboration, mentoring future scientists, and tackling real-world challenges across nations and disciplines. Let us ensure every Class and Section is represented – your participation will help shape the future of European science.
