Professor Farooq Azam, Emeritus Professor from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego, was awarded the 2026 Kyoto Prize in Biological Sciences.

Anna Traveset, elected as member of the Ecology and Evolution Section this year, receives the Alejandro Malaspina National Research Award in Science and Technology for Natural Resources.
