Elected members 2020#

The Board of trustees are pleased to announce that 361 international scholars have been elected to membership in Academia Europaea in the four Classes of humanities; social and related sciences; exact sciences and life sciences, following a rigorous peer review process.#

Invitations are sent out according to a strict timetable. The invitation and registration of the new members is an ongoing process and not yet completed. #

Time schedule for the sending of invitations:#

20 July - 24 July: members elected to Class A2
27 July - 31 July: members elected to Class B with the exception of section Chemical Sciences
25 August: members elected to section Chemical Sciences
26 August: members elected to Class C (Sections Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Cell and Developmental Biology, Physiology and Neurosciences, Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, Clinical and Veterinary Science)
28 August - 4 September: members elected to Class A1 (Sections History and Archaeology, Classics and Oriental Studies, Linguistic Studies, Literary Studies, Musicology and History of Art and Architecture, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, Film, Media and Visual Studies)

List of elected members who have already accepted the invitation to join Academia Europaea and whose registration process has been concluded. The list is not final and changes almost on a daily basis, as new members complete the acceptance and registration process.#

Background#

The Academia Europaea (formed in 1988) is the pan-European academy of science, humanities and letters, with a membership of over 4000 eminent scholars, drawn from all countries of Europe, and all disciplines, nationalities and geographical locations.
