Grzegorz W. Kołodko - Biography#
Grzegorz W. Kolodko is a distinguished professor of economics. One of most cited Polish contemporary economists working in Poland (h=39). Parallel to intensive academic activity he became involved (as an expert, as he often states) in restructuring economy of Poland at various government levels up to Dep PM and Finance Minister. Therefore he may be considered among key architect sof Polish economic reforms after 1989. As Polish Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance in 2002-03 played a leading role in achieving the entry of Poland into the European Union. Holding the same position in 1994-97 led Poland to the OECD.
The founder and Director of TIGER – Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research at the Kozminski University in Warsaw, a leading private business school in Poland. There he conducts extensive research on economies in transition. His numerous books were translated into all major languages and received very strong support from several Nobel prize winners in economy. Although Poland based, he is very strongly reserch linked to several top research economy communities, including several Nobel Prize winners. Currently deeply engaged in studies of the China transformation phenomenon (working both in Poland and China)
