Kristof Glamann - Biography#

Kristof Glamann was born in Kerteminde, Denmark. He graduated from Odense Cathedral Scholl in 1941. He obtains an MA of History at the University of Copenhagen in 1948 and became Dr. Phil. in 1958 with his thesis "Dutsch-Asiatic Trade: 1620-1740". In 1960 he became the first professor of economic history at the University of Copenhagen.

In 1945 he received a Gold Medal for writing the university Prize Essay about the Asiatic Company from 1732 to 1772.
