__Biography __\\
\\
Dr. Yang received his BS degree in Microbiology from Fudan University, a top university in China in 1995 and PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He then spent 8 years of training in Europe and performed his postdoctoral research in the lab of Dr. Zhao-Qi Wang (MAE) at International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) France and the lab of Dr. Tomas Lindahl (Nobel Laurate) at Clare Hall Laboratories, Cancer Research UK, UK. He becomes “100-Talent” Professor at Beijing Institute of Genomics since 2008 and the Head of Education Program Omics Division, the Sino-Danish College since 2015. \\
\\
Dr Yang has demonstrated the important functions of several key DNA repair proteins such as NBS1/FANCA/PARP1 in DNA repair process. He discovered a critical role of Trex1 exonuclease in degrading ssDNA in order to prevent cellular innate immune reaction. His research interest after returning to China is to unravel the nature of epitranscriptomic RNA modifications with focus on dynamic RNA methylations. \\
\\
He serves in scientific advisory boards for academic institutions and in national funding agencies. He also holds a leading position in several academic societies.\\ \\
