Rudolf Winter-Ebmer is Professor of labor economics at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria and Research Professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna. He is also affiliated with the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London, the Institute for the Future of Labor (IZA) in Bonn and the Centre for the Economics of Migration (CReAM) at UCL. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Linz. Rudolf Winter-Ebmer has been visiting (and partly teaching) at the University of California, Berkeley, UC San Diego, Oslo, University College, London, University of Graz, Innsbruck, Vienna, Zürich, Science Po, Paris. He received offers for Full Professorship from Graz, Vienna University of Economics and Business and the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He has been consulting for the World Bank, the Vienna Institute for Economic Research and the IHS and Austrian Ministries. Rudolf Winter-Ebmer is a member of the German Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) in the section of Economics and Empirical Social Sciences and is acting as the President of the Austrian Economic Association (NÖG) starting 2021. \\

His research interest is applied labor economics, in particular issues of immigration, wage determination, ageing, unemployment, discrimination and education economics. Moreover, he is interested in empirical industrial organisation, gender economics and demographic research. Since 2002 he is the Austrian country team leader for the “Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe” (SHARE), the largest scientific research infrastructure in social sciences in Europe. 2008-14 he has been the coordinator of the National Research Network “The Austrian Center for Labor Economics and the Analysis of the Welfare State”, which is bundling labor economics research in Austria and abroad. Starting 2015 he has been co-leading the Austrian Christian-Doppler Laboratory “Ageing, Health, and the Labor Market” which is co-ordinating labor, health and aging research between Austrian Universities and industry. Rudolf Winter-Ebmer published in leading economic journals, like the American Economic Review, the Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of the European Economic Association, the Economic Journal, the European Economic Review, Annals of Applied Statistics, the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Human Resources and Demography. He is highly cited internationally and has a Google Scholar citation score of 8800, an h-index of 44 and an i-10 index of 101.\\ \\
