*1967 to 1975 Attended the modern languages branch of the High School (Gymnasium) in Zwettl (Lower Austria)\\
*1975 until 1984 Studied History and Political Science as well as (without final examinations) Classical Philology (Latin) at the University of Vienna\\
*1984 Graduated as Doctor of Philosophy through the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Vienna; on the same day sat entrance examination as part of the 57. Training Course at the Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung\\
*1984-1994 Assistant (Universitätsassistent) at the History Department at the University of Vienna\\
*1985 Married Monika Hauer, MA\\
*1986 Sat the State Examination at the Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung\\
