* 1957-1958 Principal investigator of "Prestige of occupations in an urban center". A study on a sample (N = 1,000) of Warsaw inhabitants. Public Opinion Research Center at the Polish Radio. Results published in articles in Polish and American journals
* 1960-1961 Principal investigator of "Prestige of occupations among rural population". A study on a national sample (N = 1,500) of adult rural population. Public Opinion Research Center at the Polish Radio. Results published in a booklet by M. Pohoski (in Polish)
* 1961-1963 Principal investigator of "Workers and their work experience". A survey among workers of 15 large industrial companies, commissioned by the Economic Council of the Prime Minister. Public Opinion Research Center at the Polish Radio. Results published in articles in Polish.
* 1965-1987 Principal investigator of the consequtive, comparative five research projects "Social differentiation of urban population". A study on representative samples of male inhabitants in Łódź (N = 1,000). Sponsored by University of Łódź and Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences. Results published in series of seven books (of members of the research team) under the general editorship by W. Wesolowski. References to findings of that research series in several books by W. Wesolowski and others.
* 1992-1994 Principal investigator of "Deputies of Contract Parliament". In-depth interviews with a sample of deputies to the Polish Seym. Results published in the book under the editorship of J. Wasilewski and W. Wesolowski.
* 1993-1995 Principal investigator of "Leaders of the Polish Seym of 1991-1993 Term". In-depth interviews with a groups of 29 party leaders in the parliament. Results published in the book under the editorship of W. Wesołowski and I. Pańków.
* 1995-1997 Principal investigator of the research project "Democracy and Politics as Conceived of and practised by Deputies to the Polish Parliament elected in 1993 (sample of 215 Deputies)” (grant received from National Committee for Scientific Research). In parallel a complementary research project on candidates to Parliament in 1993 elections who failed (61 candidates interviewed), grant of European Committee Office in Warsaw. Results published in book under the editorship of W. Wesolowski and B. Post.
* 1997-1999 Principal investigator of the international research project (with Czech, Hungarian, Russian partners)  "The Business Elite of East-Central Europe: Their Background, Motivation and Outlook" (grant ACE PHARE). Arrticle by M. Federowicz, K. Jasiecki and W. Wesolowski published in the Polish journal.
* 2000-2003 Principal Investigator of the Research Project „Politics, Democracy and Seym”, Survay method, total populational of deputies, 407 interviews collected and analysed (grant received from National Committee for Scientific Research). Results published in a book under the editorship of W. Wesolowski
* 2005-2009 Principal Investigator of the international research project “Integrated and United: A Quest for Citizenship in an ‘ever closer Europe’” (INTUNE) in Sixth Framework Programme, Priority 7 “Citizens and Governance in a Knowledge Based Society” \\
