Main research focus is interdisciplinary research in bioinformatics, data science, health data analytics, and personalised medicine. I developed several significant new data analysis methodologies and tools during 1994-2002 for biological pattern discovery (SPEXS), gene expression data analyses (Expression Profiler, EPCLUST, EP:GO, URLMAP, etc). Developed well-used and cited tools like: g:Profiler, Multi-Experiment-Matrix MEM, ClustVis, Robust Rank Aggregation RRA, etc. \\
\\
Current research focus is on enabling the reuse of real-world health data (electronic health records, prescriptions, registry data, etc.) for generating real-world evidence; disease trajectory analyses; information extraction from text; etc. The OMOP Common Data Model serves as the basis for international collaborative studies. We are mapping Estonian data to OMOP and facilitating research on those data, in collaboration with the EHDEN and EMA DARWIN networks, national and international medical doctors, etc. \\
