Prof. Viñas scientific interests and her main achievements have/are built based on her chemical and pharmaceutical training. She has been active in new synthetic approaches of boron compounds to be applied to new materials taking benefit of their self-assembly for energy (catalysts), environment (wastewater treatment), sensors/biosensors and medicine (particularly antibiotics, antifungal, antineoplastic; visualization of drugs by Raman-microscopy techniques and radioimaging in collaboration with experts who own the equipment. In most of these areas, Prof. Viñas pioneered the research.\\

In addition, of her 359 original scientific papers, she has published 20 book chapters with ISBN and the chapter 41 of the new edition of the Encyclopedia Science of Synthesis, Houben-Weyl Methods of Molecular Transformations. She is co-editor of the book “Boron-Based Compounds: Potential and Emerging Applications in Medicine”, which was chosen by Wiley as the representative book of Boron for “The Periodic Table of Wiley Books” in international year of the periodic table ([https://www.wiley.com/en-us/IYPT]).\\ \\
