!!Gábor Tardos - Biography

Gábor Tardos received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics  at Eötvös University, Budapest in 1988. His thesis advisors were László Babai and Péter Pál Pálfy. He wrote his thesis about universal algebraic constructions.\\

Gábor Tardos is doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2005.\\
\\
He works as a senior researcher at the MTA Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics in Budapest, Hungary since 1991 with several leaves for foreign jobs. As the longest such leave from the Rényi Institute he worked at the prestigeous position of Canada Research Chair of computational and discrete geometry at the School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University, Canada from 2005-2013. He returned to the Rényi Institute to head the "Lendület" cryptography research group there.\\

Tardos is editor of several scholarly publications including the journals Order and Combinatorica. He gave invited lectures at several international conferences including the second European Congress of Mathematics and the International Congress of Mathematicians, 2018.\\ \\
