Uwe Sunde was born in 1973 and is German citizen. He is full professor of economics at the University of Munich (LMU), where he holds the chair of population economics. Currently, he serves as dean and head of department. \\

He studied economics at the Universities of Warwick (England) and Munich, where he received the degree of Diplom Volkswirt in 1998. In 2003, he obtained his PhD in economics from the University of Bonn after completing the European Doctoral Program with an extended stay at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. From 2003 to 2008 he held a position as research associate at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA).\\

After obtaining his habilitation from the University of Bonn in 2008, he held a chair in macroeconomics at the University of St. Gallen until 2012 when he moved on to Munich after declining an offer for a position as full at the University of Heidelberg. \\

Uwe Sunde is research professor at ifo, Munich and DIW, Berlin, and a fellow of the Center of Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London, the Global Labor Organization (GLO), and of the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), Bonn. He chairs the Survey Committee of the German Socio-Economic Panel and served on the board of the European Association of Labor Economics. \\

Uwe Sunde has made theoretical and empirical contributions in the field of economic growth and long-run development, population economics, labor economics, political economy, and behavioral economics.\\ \\
