!!Robert Schneider - Curriculum Vitae

Director of Institute of Functional Epigenetics (IFE), Helmholtz Zentrum München \\
Professor at Faculty of Biology, LMU Munich\\
\\
__RESEARCH TOPICS:__
\\ \\
Molecular basis of epigenetic mechanism and epigenetic reprogramming. Histone modifications and variants. Epigenetic memory.\\
\\
__PERSONAL STATEMENT__\\
\\
I have a longstanding interest in epigenetics, with a strong expertise in chromatin function. As PI at the Max Planck Institute Freiburg (Germany), IGBMC Strasbourg (France) and now at HMGU in Munich, I was able to demonstrate the functional role of histone modifications in transcription. Currently, we focus on environment-genome interactions, metabolic signaling to chromatin as well as mechanisms of transcriptional memory and epigenetic reprogramming. \\
