Meliha Povlakić, PhD is a full professor at the Law School of the University Sarajevo. She teaches Introduction to Civil law, Property law, Inheritance law, European private law, Secured transactions law, etc. The legal transfer and transformation process, as well as process of harmonization of Bosnian and Herzegovinian law with EU Law represents a special focus of her research. She gave lectures as a visiting professor in Graz, Zagreb, Toulouse, Istanbul, Vienna, Saarbrücken, etc. From 2005 until 2014 she was a lecturer at the University of Graz within Master courses in South East European Law & European Integration, and gave lectures in Security Rights on (Im)movables in SEE.  \\

She published several studies, books, and scientific papers in B&H and abroad (Austria, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Albania, Macedonia). She participated in and organized many international conferences, workshops and projects. She is a member of the editorial boards of several legal journals published in B&H and abroad.\\

Beside her scientific researches, she contributed to the legal reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a member of different expert groups dealing with the preparation of drafts of several laws (Land Registries Law, Bankruptcy Law, Notary Law, Property Law, Inheritance Law etc.). She significantly contributed to the implementation of notary service in B&H. As a local Expert she worked for Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Office of the High Representative for Brčko District in B&H, and USAID. Her practical engagement also includes membership in supervisory boards of banks and investment funds, participation in international arbitrations, as well as different educational seminars being one of the most active educators of practicing lawyers in B&H.\\

She speaks German (native speaker level) and English language, and can communicate in French both orally and in writing.\\ \\
