!!Rinaldo Poli - Biography
\\
Rinaldo Poli was born in Italy on August 17, 1956. He obtained the Laurea (MS equivalent) in Chemistry from the University of Pisa (1981) and a PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, 1985), with one year spent on an exchange program at the Imperial College London (1983-84). He then moved to the USA for a post-doc at Texas A&M University and remained in the USA for the beginning of his academic career at the University of Maryland College Park (1987-96), where he acquired the USA citizenship. Then he moved to France for the rest of his career (see CV) and became Emeritus in 2024. He spent a sabbatical year at the technical University of Munich (Germany) with a Humboldt fellowship, and has been a visiting professor (residence ≥ 2 weeks) in numerous institutions: Tokyo Metropolitan University (1995), Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory Oxford (1998), Los Alamos National Laboratory (2001, 2002, 2006), Celal Bayar Üniversitesi, Turkey (2003), Uni-Heidelberg (2008), Leibniz Institut für Katalyse, Rostock (2009), Université du Quebec à Montréal (2010), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi, Malaysia (2010), Osaka University (2012), UFMG, Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2016), Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, (2018).\\
\\
The scientific production of Rinaldo Poli currently comprises >460 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, 18 contributions to books and monographs and 2 books (ca. 14000 citations, H = 54 according to the Web of Science). He has delivered 125 invited talks at international conferences, symposia and schools and 255 invited extramural seminars in academic and industrial research institutions worldwide.\\
\\
He has served as guest editor for several high-impact factor journals (6 special issues) and for two Monographs and has served in various journal Advisory and Editorial boards (CHEMTRACTS Inorg. Chem. 1996–05, Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. 2002-10), J. Organometal. Chem. (2011-present), Organometallics (2012-14), Turkish J. Chem. (2013-17) and Chem. Eur. J. (2014-21). He has chaired or served in the organizing committee of several international conferences, the most relevant ones being the 19th EuCOMC (2011; > 650 participants), the 18th ISHC (2012, > 400 participants) and the ECIRM2024 (2024, ca. 100 participants). His scientific interest and expertise comprise organometallic reactivity, particularly when involving a spin state change, hydrides and dihydrogen complexes, controlled radical polymerization, high oxidation state aqueous organometallic chemistry, homogeneous catalysis with particular emphasis on intermolecular hydroamination of non-activated olefins and on the use of chiral ligands in enantioselective catalysis, aqueous biphasic catalysis with polymeric nanoreactors and coordination adaptable networks.\\ \\[{ALLOW view All}][{ALLOW edit rpoli}][{ALLOW upload rpoli}][{ALLOW comment All}]
