Michela Matteoli is Full Professor of Pharmacology at the Dept. of Biotechnology and Traslational Medicine, University of Milano, Italy and Director of the lab “Pharmacology and Brain Pathology” at the Clinical and Research Center Humanitas, Milano. M. Matteoli received her PhD from the University of Pisa in 1989. From 1989 to 1991 she has been postdoctoral fellow at the Yale University School of Medicine and Visiting Scientist at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Department of Neuroscience. In 1992 she established her laboratory at the CNR-Center of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology as CNR Researcher. In 2002 she became Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milano and in 2011 Full Professor.  She is responsible of several teaching courses for Medicine and Medical Biotechnology. She is also  Responsible of the CNS Cell Platform of Fondazione Filarete, Milano and President and co-founder of the spin off Neuro-Zone srl.\\

M. Matteoli is member of the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Neuroscience and Archives Italiennes de Biologie. She has been in the Board of the Italian Society of Neuroscience, member of the Advisory Board of the CNR Institute of Neuroscience and member of international Audit Committees. She is in the Board of Directors of the PhD School in Pharmacology, University of Milano and of the Center of Excellence for Neurodegenerative Diseases. She has been organizer of several national and international symposia. She is past recipient of EMBO and IBRO Fellowships, has been Project Coordinator in a NATO Collaborative Research Grant, Partner in several European Projects (including Bionic Ear, EUSynapse, EUrospin, SaveMe) and has been Coordinator of several international research networks, including Human Frontier Science Program. She holds a significant reviewer activity for both international funding agencies and prestigious scientific journals, including Science, Nature, Neuron. M. Matteoli has authored about 100 research papers and scientific reviews with an average Impact Factor of 7 and several book chapters. Her H index is 40. She is member of national and international Societies in the field of Pharmacology and Neuroscience.
