*2021 'Edify' shortlisted in the GESS (Global Education Supplies and Solutions) Education Dubai Awards 2021 in the category of Best Digital/VR/AI Product – a product Neil McDonnel and I developed with company Sublime.

*2021 Shortlisted, with Neil McDonnell, for ‘Edify’ (a VR by proxy system for teaching in higher education) developed with company Sublime in the Knowledge Exchange category of the Times Higher Education Awards.

*2021 Won the 2021 Hidden REF Award in the communicative outputs category for the online Extreme Imagination Exhibition

*2021 Finalist (together with Neil McDonnell and Sublime) in the Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards Powerful Partnerships category for Project Edify (further details of the project below).

*2020 Shortlisted (together with Professor Edward Tobias, Adam Dundas and Neil McDonnell) for the Times Higher Education Awards for Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year for the entry: "Three-dimensional molecular visualisation software for experiential learning through virtual reality". It allows undergraduate and postgraduate students to visualise and understand complex 3D molecular structures (even the Covid-19 spike protein), through VR and experiential learning.

*2025 Co-I on Arts and Humanities Research Counil grant on Exploring the Grey Zone: A Biopsychosocial Approach to Religious Delusions and Conspiracy Beliefs (£1,200,000)

*2024 Co-I on Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft for a research project on Sensory Engineering (SENSOR) (£750,000) 

*2021 Awarded Leverhulme Fellowship for Project, “A New Theory of Illusion and Hallucination and Its Implications”, to run from September 2021 – December 2023. (£59,935)

*2021 PI on Royal Society of Edinburgh  Network Grant for the project: Augmented Reality: Ethics, Perception, Metaphysics (£20,000)

*2020 Co-I on The Dream Machine Project funded by the Unboxed Festival through the UK government (£9,000,000)

*2018 - 2021 PI on Innovate UK grant of £911,713 for Project Mobius to work with VR company Soluis to produce VR teaching apps and an underlying platform that gathers data about use
