__Honours and Awards	__

*2006. MARS medal of honour 2006 was awarded to Professor Pierre Lasserre for his outstanding contribution by bringing marine science, policy and management aspects together at a global scale, and for his continuous support to MARS. Prof Pierre Lasserre accepted the award that was presented at the Triennal Conference of Directors of marine stations, in the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Naples, Italy.
